CHS Leeds to Underline City as Tier One Destination

CHS Leeds takes place in under two weeks’ time and the organisers are underlining the importance of the destination to the UK meetings and events scene. The event will see some of the most recognised event organisers and suppliers convene from across the region, under the backdrop of a resurgent city, growing its connectivity, confidence, and attraction to large corporates.

Over the last few years Leeds has welcomed the arrival of major brands such as Channel 4, UKTV and a host of growing tech start-ups and SME’s, creating a tech / media scene within the city which is adding value across the region and connecting it with similar growth in Manchester, Liverpool and Newcastle.

During CHS Leeds, The Royal Armouries will be transformed into an epicentre for events and hospitality as CHS Leeds returns to the northern city once more. The show is actively targeting the growing event organiser community bought together by the influx of these companies. At the same time, over 200 hotels, venues and event suppliers will be preparing to support them to bring to life their events programme.

The show also has fantastic backing from Conference Leeds, the convention bureau for the city, whom has joined the team at CHS as our strategic brand partner.”

Claire Heap, Visitor Economy Manager said “Over the last 10 years the city has established itself as one of the UK’s leading conference destinations.  Leeds has undergone a massive transformation is rich with industrial heritage and as the second largest financial centre in the UK is also renowned for being home to leading medical and healthcare, professional services, and digital and manufacturing sectors.

We are thrilled to welcome CHS back to Leeds this year, by positioning Conference Leeds as the Strategic Brand Partner to the Show, we will strengthen our conferencing and events commitment to the City and support the Show in its ambitions to equip event professionals with connections to creative and innovative event spaces and suppliers from across the UK.”

The growth of businesses and communities is massive, there is a lot of excitement in the city and we’re keen to make events a crucial part of Leeds’ development story,” says Emma Cartmell, CEO and Founder of CHS Events.

“We have a long-standing history with the city and we’re absolutely delighted to be returning to where it all started 12 years ago at the Royal Armouries. Leeds is the perfect backdrop for our Northern Show, we have some amazing hoteliers and venues in this fabulous city that really know events inside and out, such as the Queens Hotel, our welcome reception host.

Paul Priest, Director of Business Development at the hotel states “Leeds is a city that has been rejuvenated over the years and is now the 5th most popular UK conference destination in the UK.  Enquiries are increasing, be it large corporate events to smaller board meetings, boosted by the number of large corporate businesses based in the city plus the influx of companies moving their headquarters to Leeds.  CHS provides the city and us at The Queens Hotel the platform to showcase why Leeds is the perfect location not only for business events but for its amazing culture, heritage and fabulous food and drink scene.

Emma continued: “This year, we are back to live and we couldn’t be more delighted. We have content and exhibitors across three event spaces including an outdoor brand activation square. This is brand new to us at CHS and underlines the importance of outdoor events to the growth of the industry right now.”

“We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to our show again. It’s been a long time coming.”
