Dine delivers dazzling hospitality at Victoria Gate launch

Hospitality and event management specialist Dine provided its award-winning food and drink service at the launch of John Lewis in Leeds last week.

The eagerly-awaited department store – the retailer’s largest outside London – sits within the first phase of the landmark Victoria Gate scheme, created by property developer Hammerson.

The launch event, on 19 October, saw VIP guests enjoy a tour of the new store followed by a memorable food and drink experience.

Speakers included Andy Street, chief executive of John Lewis, David Atkins, chief executive of Hammerson and Cllr Judith Blake, leader of Leeds City Council.

Dine prepared an extensive canapé and bowl food menu, with highlights including mini cornettos of Caprini goats cheese, arancini of wild mushrooms with truffled aioli and roast dinner of Yorkshire beef served in mini copper pans.

The food was prepared and cooked in a mobile kitchen within John Lewis’ ‘Place to Eat’ kitchen.

Dine founder Daniel Gill said: “We are honoured to have been chosen to provide our renowned food service at this prestigious event and delighted to have the opportunity to work with Wellpleased Events and for their clients, Hammerson & John Lewis.

“This landmark development is an inspired and elegant addition to Leeds city centre and we aimed to dazzle guests with food and drink that befitted such a fantastic occasion.”

This latest project is all in a day’s work for Leeds-based Dine, which caters for more than a 100 corporate events a year. These range from VIP receptions and product launches to conferences as well as exclusive and bespoke private dining.
