Events in the heart of the Cultural Quarter, Leeds

Leeds College of Music has joined forces with Northern Ballet to offer an exciting new conference space in Leeds’s cultural quarter.

With over 100 years of combined cultural activity, the two neighbouring institutions have teamed up to cater for medium to large-scale conferences and events, for up to 354 delegates in a unique setting.

The sites’ combined offering will include two large theatre spaces – The Venue (LCoM) and Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre (NB), both with superb lighting, sound and tech. In addition, The Rooftop Bar (LCoM) and Atrium (NB) offer flexible catering and exhibition space with further breakout areas across the two venues, allowing a bespoke tailored experience for each client.

Two of the Norths’ leading cultural lights, Leeds College of Music and Northern Ballet share a combined story of 100 years providing outstanding customer experience across a range of events. Through this new partnership, the impressive joint space offers a unique opportunity for clients who want to host a conference in a striking context, with breath-taking views across the city and state-art-of-the arts facilities.

Recent conferences at Leeds College of Music include Creative Cities Convention, One Dance UK and High-Speed Rail Industry Leaders, whilst Northern Ballet have hosted BBC Future Women in Media event, Leeds City Council International women’s Day event and The National Trust Road Show.

Claire Heap, Head of Conference Leeds at Leeds City Council said;

“Collaboration is a key element of our conferencing proposition for Leeds and has been a key factor in successfully securing conference business for the city. The collaborative working allows the city to create conferences and events experiences which are unique and bespoke to organiser requirements. It’s great to see the partnership between Leeds College of Music and the Northern Ballet; together the two venues create a unique conference offer with a strong cultural element and will be a welcomed addition to the city’s venue portfolio. It is exciting developments such as these which are part of the reason that we are continuing to climb in the BMEIS rankings, with Leeds now being the 4th most popular conferencing destination in the UK.”

Ruth Pitt, Chair of Leeds 2023 said:

“We’re immensely proud that Leeds boasts such an exceptional range of world class cultural institutions featuring some truly remarkable spaces. It’s exciting to see two of those institutions working together in this innovative way to provide a striking venue to showcase some of the very best of the arts in Leeds to those who visit.”

The new offering will officially be launched at Confex North on 3 and 4 July at Victoria Warehouse, Manchester, where both organisations will be exhibiting together and giving guests a taste of the cultural quarter of Leeds with special performances, short films, fizz and a little bite to eat!
