Refurb takes the Sky Lounge at DoubleTree by Hilton Leeds to new heights

Following an extensive refurbishment, works at the Sky Lounge in the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, Leeds is now complete. Managed by Valor Hospitality Europe, the rooftop venue which is on the 13th floor has been expanded and now boasts a slick new design.

Led by interior designers ABDA Creative Design and Build, the inspiration behind the refurbishment came from the combination of Hilton brand elements with the sparkle and glamour of the finest metropolitan hotels and a dash of retro-opulence.

Key features of the bespoke redesign include elegant, stylish seating which has been designed and manufactured in the UK. The opulent feel to the bar has been created by the use of crystal, mirrors, rich timber and luxurious fabrics.
The size of the Sky Lounge, which is the highest rooftop bar in the city, has been significantly increased to enable staff to provide a more efficient and effortless service for guests.

The outdoor terrace has also been greatly improved with heating, lighting and new seating, creating the ideal location to take in the stunning views and invite people to see what Leeds has to offer.

When meetings deserve more than a stuffy office, the Sky Lounge is the place where business means business. Off of the main lounge there are four comfortable and flexible meeting rooms all with amazing views for that blue-sky thinking.

Tim Price, general manager at DoubleTree by Hilton Leeds, said: “The Sky Lounge is now a truly high end venue offering a new level of sophistication with an extensive cocktail selection and mouth-watering menus.

“We believe that the new design will have a broad appeal and is the perfect venue for everything from high-powered business meetings right through to casual drinks with friends and private parties for special occasions.”

Located on Granary Wharf, between the Leeds Railway Station and Liverpool Canal, the Sky Lounge towers over cobbled bridges and the original working locks of the waterways and offers panoramic views over Leeds and the North Yorkshire Dales.

The hotel is easy to reach by train with a direct link from Leeds station via its brand new Southern entrance to right outside the hotel.

Managing director of Valor Hospitality Europe, Brian McCarthy, said: “The DoubleTree by Hilton Sky Lounge already held a strong reputation in Leeds as a unique venue in the city thanks to its location and high quality food and beverage offering.”

The Sky Lounge offers a three course brunch between 11am to 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays for £20 and guests looking to add some fizz to a traditional afternoon tea can now enjoy unlimited prosecco during a 90-minute booking for £29.95 per person on Friday, Saturday and Sundays.

“The refined new design has elevated the quality even further and is just one example of the high standards we are aiming to achieve in all of our properties,” added Brian. “We are heavily investing in all 19 of our hotels to ensure that our guests, whether they’re just stopping by for lunch or staying for the weekend, receive the best possible service and experience.”

Valor manages the 19 properties in its UK portfolio on behalf of investment vehicles affiliated with MCAP Global Finance Ltd. (“MCAP”), which is a UK subsidiary of New York based investment adviser Marathon Asset Management, LP.
