Well Met, the conference office for Leeds Beckett University, is delighted to announce the appointment of Senior Conference and Events Executive, Alexandra Wood.

After completing an Events Management degree at Leeds Beckett University, Alex was recruited for a graduate scheme with QHotels – from there she moved across the Hotel Sales industry, working at Principal Hayley and Hilton before doing a full circle and returning to Leeds Beckett as the Conference and Events Host.

Now faced with this exciting venture, Alex is keen to steer Cloth Hall Court into being an unrivalled dedicated conferencing venue within Leeds. Speaking about her recent appointment, she commented:

“I am absolutely thrilled to have been appointed as the Senior Conference and Events Executive for Cloth Hall Court. It is a really big year for Well Met and I am delighted to be part of this exciting development. I really welcome the challenge the new role will bring.”

Originally built for trading cloth in the 18th Century, Well Met have incorporated subtle reminders of the building’s humble origins. Taking influence from the textile industry, each of the 10 rooms have been individually named and include: Merchants Hall, Herringbone Suite and Seamstress Boardroom. This standalone contemporary conference space boasts a capacity for 300 delegates with an abundance of training suites, theatre halls and break out facilities available. The modern layout and creative interior makes a refreshing addition to the sector. Securing over £700k worth of venue enquires already, Well Met anticipate that Cloth Hall Court will become the pre-eminent venue in Leeds for both corporate events and conferences.

Clare Vidler, Conference Manager for Well Met comments:

“Cloth Hall Court is different to alternative conference venues because it’s completely individual. The heritage of the building is at the core of all interior design, décor and marketing, making the venue a truly distinctive proposition in Leeds. The combined experience of the conference team has also enabled us to manage the entire project with the customer in mind. From the initial enquiry, right through to the day itself our goal is to ensure that the client receives a completely unique experience tailored specifically to them. Cloth Hall Court is a brilliant venue with a fantastic team behind it, so it is my hope that we’ll enter the conference market with a bang. We have all fallen in love with the venue, so we hope our customers will do the same.”
