Well Met sweep the nominations for the very first Academic Venue Awards

This year will see the very first edition of the Academic Venue Awards take place and Well Met, the conference department for Leeds Beckett University, are finalists for four awards including Best Conference Venue.

Well Met are also nominated for Best Customer Service and Best Training Venue categories as well as Best Non Residential Venue of the Year.

The awards, which are to be held in The Great Hall at Queen Mary University Of London on 22nd November, will celebrate the exceptional among the over 1000 academic venues across the UK.

Well Met has earned its place as one of the most highly-regarded venues. Leeds Beckett was the first university in the UK to receive the coveted GOLD Accredited in Meetings certification as a recognition of its exceptional standards in customer service, compliance with codes of conduct, legislation and corporate social responsibility.

Well Met also holds a gold level rating in the ‘Investors in People’ accreditation for warm, enthusiastic and committed customer delivery and service. Holding the enhanced Gold standard places Well Met among just the top 7% of Investors in people nationwide, making it easy to see why they have been shortlisted for the Best Customer Service award.

Above all, the nominations are testament to the hard work and determination of the Well Met team, who have not only worked towards maintaining the high standard of the venues, but have continued to build and progress. The achievements of the team were recognised earlier this year when they received Team of the Year at the LHVA awards, shortly before the launch of the new Cloth Hall Court, Well Met’s new 300-delegate holding conference venue in the heart of Leeds.

Clare Vidler, Conference Manager at Well Met commented:

“We are absolutely thrilled to be finalists in the very first Academic Venue Awards. The team have been working very hard and it’s wonderful to gain recognition in four different categories in these awards. We are up against some tough competition, but I have every faith that our determined and dedicated efforts will go a long way in impressing the judges.”
