Well Met weave history into their new conference venue: Cloth Hall Court launches summer 2017

Well Met Conferencing, the conferencing office for Leeds Beckett University will be opening their newest venue, Cloth Hall Court, in summer 2017. The dynamic conferencing venue will been designed with the building’s significant textile heritage in mind, combining magnificent architecture with state-of-the-art technology and an incredible versatile space.

Sheppard Robson Architects have constructed the striking multi-million-pound refurbishment of one of Leeds most historic sites; the building will now serve as a conference centre for corporate events along with being the new Yorkshire premises of The Institute of Directors (IoD).

Set in the heart of Leeds, the venue is only two-minute walk from Leeds Railway Station, making it an excellent choice for event bookers who are looking for convenient and easy access to transport links. Cloth Hall Court boasts a maximum capacity of 300 delegates with four floors of conference space, along with state-of-the-art AV technology, superfast WiFi and, unusually for a city centre venue, VIP parking on-site.

Taking influence from the building’s textile heritage, rooms will be themed with cloth in mind; names include Tweed, Herringbone and Wool – the latter being a nod to Leeds proud industrial history. Central to the development is the desire to celebrate the rich cultural heritage within the building’s history and its importance to Leeds. And the historical references continue as Well Met look to capitalise on the venue’s prominent position; once considered as one of the most famous wool making centres in the country, Leeds now welcomes business tourism from around the UK and further afield, seeing 3.94m delegates in 2015, worth £501m to the local economy.

Kate Davis, Head of Business Development Campus & Residential Services at Well Met Conferencing comments:

“It’s incredibly exciting to be able to announce the opening of Cloth Hall Court. We have enjoyed working on the project, so to see the hard work come to fruition in one of the city’s most impressive buildings is extremely rewarding. As business tourism continues to grow in the north of England, our services are more in demand than ever before and we are confident that our newest venue will meet the demand for high quality, flexible event space in the centre of Leeds.”
