COVID-19 Enhanced measures

Britannia Hotels are continuing to closely monitor government guidelines in relation to the current COVID-19 pandemic. The safety of our guests and employees is paramount to us and all our team receive regular training on our policies and are equipped with the relevant PPE.

Conferences and Meetings

Prior to your arrival, one of our team will make contact with the organiser to agree the times for any refreshment breaks in order to allow us to plan accordingly and prevent crowding. They will also explain which meeting room has been reserved, where breaks will be taken and the best entrance into the hotel for the delegates to use.

All of our meeting room capacities have been carefully reviewed and chairs and tables will be set out to ensure that the current government guidelines on social distancing are in place. We will always endeavour to provide as large a room as possible.

Arrival

On entry to the hotel you will find an information sign and hand sanitiser station.
From the 8th of August guests and visitors must wear a face covering in the public areas and corridors.
A one way system is in place in the hotel in high traffic areas.
Signs in the lobby will show which meeting room has been reserved.
We have the ability to set up temperature checking for delegates arriving if the organiser wishes. All of our staff are temperature checked on arrival each day.
A confidential text message track and trace system is in place to adhere to government guidelines. Delegates text a number on their arrival to register they are at the hotel.

The Meeting Room

All meeting rooms and public areas are subject to enhanced cleaning including the use of specialist anti-viral products and more frequent cleaning.
Meeting rooms are sealed with a ‘Britannia Safe’ sticker after cleaning so delegates have confidence the room is untouched since being cleaned and sanitised.
Bottles of hand sanitiser are in each meeting room.
Where possible meeting rooms with immediate access to outside areas will be provided to allow for breaks in the open air.

Breaks and Refreshments

Water is available in individual bottles for each person. Tea and coffee is served in takeaway/disposable cups and we asked the conference organiser arranges breaks in a staggered manner with the conference office staff.
Break timings will be established in advance to minimise footfall and overcrowding.
Meals served in buffet form will be plated by one of our team wearing full PPE to prevent cross contamination on utensils.

If a guest or employee reports symptoms of COVID-19 then medical advice should be sought immediately and necessary precautions put in place.
