Reason for nomination: Since the first lockdown back in March 2020, Leeds Conservatoire’s Events & Enterprise Directorate have displayed creativity, flair and resilience, adapting their normal working conditions to continue services and support other departments.
The team have gone above and beyond by reimagining and delivering a Covid-secure, in-person induction and continued music-making with streamed performances, masterclasses and workshops both on-site and remotely. They have also assisted in replacing existing lighting with new LED lighting to enhance the customer experience, managed the conservatoire’s social media channels and signposted students to help resources.
The Directorate were also tasked with organising a virtual staff Christmas party, and were able to put a smile on the faces of all staff with the virtual event dubbed the “best Christmas party yet! A much needed antidote before a well-deserved break”.
