Taking place annually during the height of summer, on the last Monday in August, this colourful display represents the brightest and the best of carnival culture.

From its Celtic roots to its placement at the heart of the textiles industry, Leeds is a city steeped in history. 

Royal Armouries Museum 

Sister Museum to The Tower of London the Royal Armouries’ https://royalarmouries.org/leeds is home to one of the largest collections of arms and armour in the world.  A highlight of the collection is the craftsmanship of Henry VIII’s enclosing foot Combat Armour.  

Made at the Greenwich Armoury in about 1520, the armour is designed to cover the wearer from head to toe, leaving no part unprotected.   In the 1960’s NASA got in touch with the Tower of London so they could model the modern-day space suit on this historic piece of armour!  

 

Harewood House 

Located a short journey from the hustle and bustle of Leeds City Centre, Harewood House is one of the Treasure Houses of England.  Set amidst stunning Yorkshire landscapes, this impressive home offers a retreat into nature and an opportunity to explore its magnificent architecture and art collections.
