It’s all about tech! Leeds welcomes over 600 delegates to the First Direct Arena

ConferenceLeeds is celebrating the continuous success of digital events in Leeds as digitech18 comes to the city on the 31st October 2018. The event, which is organised by Crown Commercial Service, the UK’s largest public procurement organisation, and Public Sector Connect, will be held at major entertainment venue first direct Arena and will see over 600 delegates visit the city as a result.

The event will see hundreds of technology and procurement specialists meet to discuss key issues affecting the UK’s public sector technology landscape including digital transformation, the SME agenda, and Robotics and AI. It will provide delegates with access to some of the UK’s leading technology experts across two theatres at Leeds’ first direct Arena – with sessions covering commercial excellence, the changing technology market, transformation and policy.

digitech18 is a CPD-accredited event, meaning after the event delegates will receive a CPD certificate of attendance showing five hours or five points towards your CPD. Key partners and supporters include IBM, FCO Services, NHS Digital, SOCITM, GDS and Cabinet Office.

Steve Mallinson, Director of Public Sector Connect, said: “We are extremely excited to host this event for the very first time and what better location than Leeds because it is a truly thriving digital hub. We have some fascinating confirmed exhibitors including Capita, Dell, Pulsar Platform and the Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation and know that all delegates attending will have a very informative and memorable visit.”

Claire Heap, Head of ConferenceLeeds, commented: “The selection of Leeds to host the first digitech is a credit to our digital sector strength, following the city hosting more tech events in a week compared to San Francisco, during Leeds Digital Festival this year. What’s more, the first direct Arena is a world-class venue that will really add gravity to the excellent key speakers attending. The first direct Arena will host an exhibition area covering 2200 sq metres, 60 + stands and two purpose built seminar theatres – the event and the setting is sure to attract technology and procurement specialists from all parts of the public sector for learning and exploration.

Those who will be staying in Leeds prior to or following the event will also get to experience diverse and vibrant culture, excellent accommodation and an unrivalled food and drink scene, with all of this situated in close proximity to the first direct Arena.”
